Project Scope:
The Animal Locomotion laboratory is a newly created lab for Duke University's Evolutionary Anthropology Department.The laboratory uses observation and experimental techniques of living primates and relevant animals to answer questions about primate and human evolution.
The idea behind the logo was to send a clear message of the labs goals by incorporating its main research subject in a way that conveys movement and evolution.
The design is symbolic of labs recent establishment and core mission by placing the monkey at the base of the branch with a forward movement, which relates to the evolution and growth of the lab at Duke and its core mission of evolutionary research through movement.
